Belen has always enjoyed dance and movement since a very early age. While attending UCLA in the early 2000s, she started taking yoga classes at the campus gym. She quickly fell in love with the movement and centering aspect of yoga. This love eventually led her to becoming a certified yoga instructor through Yogafit in 2009. She thoroughly enjoyed being a yoga instructor but often times developed ongoing chronic joint pain while teaching and during her own practice. Her physical therapists urged her to let go of her yoga practice in favor of teaching pilates. Due to this, in 2014 she took a leap of faith and did a one-on-one comprehensive 75 hour Classical Pilates mat certification with the owner of Total Body Wellness in Albuquerque, NM. Her mat training was the beginning of her passion of Pilates and specifically the reformer apparatus.

“The reformer has helped my body to feel like it did in my twenties. My freedom of movement greatly improved and allowed me to continue the other activities I loved.” -Belen

Belen has taught yoga and mat pilates in different cities in the US and the United Kingdom. Her goals are:

- To help her students develop a mind-body connection.
- Improve her clients' efficiency of movement in their daily life.
- A focus on alignment and accuracy of movement.

Her teaching approach is about helping others find a mind body connection with an emphasis on proper alignment. She enjoys learning as much as she can about Pilates and hopes to share her positive energy with her clients! In her free time she enjoys doing outdoor activities with her family and their dog.
