Amy holds a B.A. in performing Arts from Saint Mary’s College of California. Her introduction to Pilates came when she took a mat class during a summer session at San Francisco Ballet school. Years later, with the birth of her first child, she really fell in love with the benefits of Pilates, as it helped her strengthen her core and correct misalignments. On a personal level, Pilates helped Amy understand and appreciate her body in a way she had never experienced before. This evolved into a strong desire to reach out to others by teaching the Pilates method. She then went on to an instructor training program at College of San Mateo, taught by esteemed Sarah Artha Negara, who holds the titles of Second Generation Pilates Instructor and Lolita’s Disciple. From Sarah’s program, Amy received a comprehensive Pilates instructor certification from Balanced Body University in 2015.

With a background in Dance, Amy brings 18 plus years of unique movement experience and knowledge. She is so grateful for her time as a professional dancer with Bay Area companies such as Oakland Ballet, Company C Contemporary Ballet, Peninsula Ballet, and Ross Dance Company.

In her classes, Amy loves to merge her passion for dance, kinesiology and teaching while helping others achieve a healthy lifestyle in a fun, positive, and supportive environment.

Amy has two little boys, Max and Nico. She enjoys family outings, hiking, and beach days. Amy also has teacher training in TRX, and Stephanie Herman’s Pilates Ballet Fundamentals.
